Here we are, in September: we have just made our good resolutions-we want something new. So let’s get ready not only for the autumn but also for changing our style!
The catwalks of the fashion weeks have already given the must-haves for fall-winter 2017/2018 season. Definitely, it won’t be boring-warm and strong colors which will sweep away the winter dullness. Check prints, tartan and floral prints will create a striking mix and match- it won’t be unnoticed. Velvet, reconfirmed as smart and refined fabric, will be reconsidered in pop style. All the shapes and shades of denim from the jeans to the accessories. And more: maxi volumes and framed shoulder pads.
Everybody has agreed about all these fashion trends, but they don’t suit everybody! Let’s choose the best for you.
RED: it is not Bordeaux red, it is not burgundy-it is strong, vivid, warm, sensual: its best is red velvet. It fits both blondes and brunettes. Of course, red may be more striking on a brunette. Only the long limbed and slender ones may dare the total look. It is suitable for the outwear and fur coats for every type of body shape. Curvy women should wear it moderately, always in combination with optical patterns or tartan. Red with purple, orange, or pink are very glamorous. For a less striking effect, chose the combination with blue or grey.
YELLOW: it comes in the nuance between mustard and saffron. It will give some light to dull fall days. Yellow long pleated skirts or pants are perfect. This is a difficult color to wear near the face, unless your complexion is always chocolate brown. If your skin is fair, yellow will make you look paler-if you can’t renounce it, choose a bright shade! Yellow pants do not suit tapered legs, because it will show off any imperfections. It is suitable for two color or patterned dresses.
BLUE: it will replace black as it is the only color with the same features, and it is often more refined, moderate and quiet. Navy peony is the best nuance for the pants: it is unique, vivid but not too dark. It fits all the types of body shapes, so reassuring to wear it every day. Opt for a total look or in combination with black for the trendiest matching of the season. Try it with velvet, tartan or square pattern.
PRINTS: floral, brocade, tartan, Prince of Wales checks, squared. Floral print is suitable for silky midi knee- length dresses, tartan and check for the well-framed fabric of the outwear. Prints will have a leading role in the following season. Opt for a tartan pair of pants with a lean t-shirt or a Prince of Wales check suit and you will be really stylish.
VELVET: it is velvet time mania! From the coat to the ankle boots. Blue, Bordeaux red and blush pink velvet. You must have at least a velvet item in your wardrobe. It is not “slimming”! A wide elegant coat, or a blazer with flared jeans is the best outfit if you have abundant hips and thin bust. A pair of velvet palazzo pants with a shirt or a silky blouse if you have slender legs and a little flattish belly. Velvet pants suit you if you are quite thin. And then use accessories such as pochette bags and booties.
MAXI SWEATERS: let’s have maxi volumes for coats and pullovers as well. Opt for woolen, cashmere or alpaca wool maxi sweaters. The sleeves should be wide, flared, with or without armholes. Opt for 3d volumes and match them with knee-length skirts, jeans, or loose pants. They also fit a lean dress. They are not suitable for the women who are slightly overweight on the upper body: opt for a cardigan and leave it open. Be careful: plaited, honeycomb, and decorated models make you clumsy. Light cashmere sweaters are easier to wear because of their contained volume. The color must be showy: fuchsia, electric blue, yellow, red!
