Cooking fish, meat and eggs

Fish, meat and eggs are the main sources of proteins if you are on a diet.

How can you cook them to enhance their taste and to preserve their nutrients without exaggerating the dressing?

You may not know that you shouldn’t boil meat or fish because they lose the their nutrients in the water and, on the other hand, they are not tempting and appetizing.

  • As a rule, meat has to be cooked fast and at high temperature, such as grilling. But you may also roast or braise the meat because at first we seal it by browning fast at high temperature in order to keep all the liquid and the nutrients inside. Then you can simmer it. We just have to be careful with the fat: don’t use butter and don’t exaggerate oil.
  • You can grill, roast in oven, steam the fish. In this way, the amount of fat used is very little and the nutritive content of the fish is preserved.
  • The case is different for the eggs, because it can be tasty and appetizing also without any dressing. We don’t have to follow any particular recipes with a lot of ingredients: the best are hard boiled, soft boiled, poached eggs. Vacuum-sealed cooking is an innovative, but not very common way of coking fish, meat and eggs. This technique uses low temperatures and it is very fashionable in the modern food business. At the end, another new creative and tasty technique is cooking in jar: all the ingredients and the dressing are put into a jar with hermetic sealing and then they are cooked in a bain-marie in the oven, in the microwave oven or in a pot. It’s easy and fast; food is tender , tasty and it keeps all its nutrient content.
