Are you getting ready for an important event? Do you want to be perfect? Do you want to be wonderful and charming? And the D-Day you get up and find a hideous pimple on your face. First dread, discouragement and resignation… then you act ,and start trying every possible remedy. And the Internet is a never ending source of torture… In the past you used to use toothpaste or some other old remedies, but nowadays everything is possible.

But the questions without answers are always the same: why? Why me? Why today?

The women who suffer from PCOS know why and have quitted making questions because they have got used to living with pimples and acne every day. Everything has got difficult: understanding the problem and finding solutions have become urgent.

The time for that will come, but first let’s explain what happens to the skin.

Pimples are commonly associated to the overproduction of sebum by the sebaceous glands. But sometimes the causes are different.

When we our skin is oily, it is lucid and greasy because of overproduction of sebum and cutaneous lipid.

What are the causes? First of all the hormones, the androgens, PCOS patients fight against every day (don’t worry, we’ll deal with this later on), then external elements such us temperature, humidity and last but not least stress (that’s the answer to the D-Day’s pimple!).

Dermatologists divide seborrhea in two types: dry and oily.

  • The dry seborrhea, is characterized by a so thick secretion that the skin is covered by a dry squamous film which prevents it to carry out the ordinary functions (such us breathing).
  • The oily seborrhea is responsible for the lucid face: the pores are dilated and often oily drops spring out.

Anyway, apart from the definition, the skin is impure, grey, asphyxiated, in a word: unattractive.

What remedied have you tried? You may have bought the most aggressive degreaser product on the market! That’s a mistake: using too aggressive products and cleansing your skin too often make the problem get worse and worse. When this blemish occurs, the skin needs delicate specific cleaners which can balance the production of sebum and then some astringent products for the dilated pores.

Take care of your skin: you should clean it softly, remove all the impurities and the secretion on the surface. Trust only skillful professionals in order to get a proper diagnosis of your skin and a suitable treatment.

Don’t be aggressive, your skin will thank you!
